Cabin Creek Wind

Cabin Creek Wind is a community effort made up of more than 50 local ranchers and landowners who are seeking to protect the legacy of their land while helping all of Craig County prosper by hosting wind energy turbines.

Triple Oak is making great progress toward our goal of developing wind power in Craig County. Families representing more than 30,000 acres have committed to participating in the Cabin Creek wind farm.

Cabin Creek Wind will provide a reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy source to the regional electric grid and will bring significant long-term investment to the Craig County community. This project will preserve and protect the county’s rural, agricultural landscape for current and future generations.

Supporting the Local Community

Cabin Creek Wind will contribute millions of dollars to Craig County over the life of the project, benefiting our landowner partners, the Welch School District, Craig County emergency services, and other local infrastructure. Cabin Creek will pay an estimated $44 million in property taxes to Craig County in the first 10 years of project operations, and $84 million over a 35-year project life. The project will employ hundreds of people during construction, and these workers will support local restaurants, hotels, gas stations, and other businesses. Once constructed, the project will support 10 to 15 full-time, local employees.
