Summer Intern Peace Kalomba Reflects on Her Summer at Triple Oak

Peace Kalomba

Meet Peace Kalomba, Triple Oak’s summer intern and passionate new-gen clean energy professional. Peace spent last summer as part of LevelTen’s Energy Scholars program, where she connected with Triple Oak CEO Labeja. Originally from Malawi, Peace is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies & Mathematics at @Bennington College in Vermont. Reflecting on all she learned through her experience, Peace says:

“I have always had a keen interest in renewable energy development because of its potential to transform a piece of land into an energy generating field. I came into this internship at Triple Oak with prior general knowledge about the renewable energy industry, but working with Triple Oak helped me conceptualize and make tangible this knowledge. For my internship project, I was tasked with prospecting potential projects in a couple of states. This involved performing due diligence through conducting research, getting subject matter expert opinions, and using mapping software to determine the viability of a potential wind project. I truly got to appreciate wind energy as I was exposed to the amount of work and dedication that is poured into projects, from green fielding to acquiring land leases, especially the latter.

“Working with Triple Oak gave me valuable professional experience by immersing me in a professional setting through attending company meetings and engaging with professionals throughout the company who were a great source of mentorship. It is exciting to be a part of an organization that is working towards a sustainable future. The internship has also asserted my enthusiasm for renewable energy, particularly wind energy through its practicality and great ability to reduce carbon emissions through generating clean and sustainable power. I am excited for the future of energy production. I am all in on wind!”

Thank you, Peace, for all you’ve done to enrich Team Triple Oak. We’re proud you’re part of the Triple Oak family.
