Summer Intern Agustin Pereira-Martinez reflects on his summer at TOP

Commentary
This summer I was granted the opportunity of interning at Triple Oak Power. My responsibilities included performing research and due diligence, supporting existing projects, & the evaluation of new development and acquisition opportunities. Without significant prior experience in the field, I took it upon myself to read up on not just the renewable energy industry at large, but rather the grid itself. Much of this came in handy as I was lucky enough to receive work spanning the lifecycle of our wind development projects. Through these experiences I gained a holistic understanding of the intricacies of the renewable energy development, & although I have much to learn, I feel I’ve gained an invaluable insight into the inner workings of this industry I previously knew little about.
My time here at Triple Oak Power has been an incredible eye-opening experience, one which has taught me many lessons, both academically in my own knowledge of a growing industry as well as professionally, key in which was the ability & initiative to work independently. Adapting to a new line of work within a new city is never easy, but I was always made to feel welcome in an environment conducive to not just good but dedicated work, with peers whose shared experiences & unique perspectives I know I can always call on for help. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work & learn here at Triple Oak Power, and I cannot thank the team enough for their assistance and care this past summer.
